Los Angeles has a remarkable train station called
Union Station. Why is it so great? Union Station is
right in the middle of so much of what Los Angeles
has to offer and it is part of a true transportation hub
for the area. Union Station offers buses, traditional
passenger trains, and a subway station. Union
Station also has incredible architecture.
Train Museums and Rides with Griffith Park
If you are a train enthusiast, then LA’s Griffith Park is
a must. In the course of one large city park there are
three train rides worth riding on. While the focus of
this page is on train rides, we should not that there is
also a historical carousel within griffith park that was
frequented by Walt Disney and is believed by many to
be Walt Disney’s inspiration for Disneyland.
Griffith Park and Southern Railroad
Address: 4400 Crystal Springs Dr, Los Angeles, CA
90027
Phone: (323) 664-6788
I have personally been on this railroad line and its
trains countless times. If you have a family this train
ride is a must given that there are adjacent pony rides
as well.
Live Steamers
Cost: An expected donation
The trains here are very popular because of their
history at Griffith Park and because of the Walt Disney

the first thing you are greeted with is a train station
replica that looks remarkably similar to that of
Disneyland. Walt Disney also has his barn here.
